Parks

Here is a list of local parks with their address and a few features of the park.

  • River Front Park - 312 Laurel Street, Columbia, SC 29201- public restrooms, amphitheater with open field below, paved walking path, dog/bike/stroller friendly, view of Columbia canal, Broad river and Congaree river. No playground.
  • River walk- located under the Gervais Street bridge, where Hwy 1 and 378 meet. There is parking at the park entrance or across the street in the gravel parking lot. Public restrooms, amphitheater, beautiful views of city and Congaree River. Side walk throughout entire park and several park benches and picnic benches. No Playground.
  • Finlay Park- 930 Laurel Street, Columbia, SC 2920- public restrooms, picnic tables, playground, water fountain and pond, bench swings, open field, amphitheater and paved path. 
  • Irmo Town Park- 1249 Lexington Ave, Columbia, SC 29063 (Near Lake Murray Blvd.) - spot for summer concerts, pond, open field and amphitheater. Great for a family picnic.
  • Virginia Hylton Park- 111 Maiden Lane, Lexington, SC - Public restrooms, picnic tables and shelters, ampitheaters, public grills (Bring own charcoal and matches),  paved walkway, playground with alot of different areas for younger children, older children and children with special needs. 
  • Saluda Shoals Park- 5605 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Park admission fee- car/mini-van $4 residents $5 non-residents, 12+ passenger van $6 R/$7 NR. Dogs are welcome if on leash at all times!  Boat Launch, Canoe/Kayak Put-in Areas, picnic tables with grills, Riverfront trail, Saluda Splash- water playground ($3 wristband required at gate) 
  • Seven Oaks Park- 200 Leisure Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Playgrounds, 9 athletic fields, 6 tennis courts, paved walking trails, picnic shelters, community garden and gymnasium for community activities. 
  • Springdale Park (Felton C. Benton Spray Pool and Park)- 2915 Platt Springs Road Springdale, SC 29170. A family Favorite because it is a fenced in park next to the police station. This park has restrooms and 2 shaded picnic areas and a basketball court. It has older playground equipment along with a "new" playground as well. During summer months they turn on a spray pool in the afternoon for the kids to splash in.
